- Quickstart 2 – Designing a Questionnaire
- Quickstart 3 – Running a Questionnaire
Step 1 – Open Dub Quest
Double-click the Dub Quest shortcut icon to launch the application. The Survey Navigator (main screen) appears.

Step 3 – Set the project details
In the upper left section of the window, fill in the following:
Project ID A unique code of up to 8 alphanumeric characters. This identifies your project throughout the system. If you enter an invalid character, a warning will appear.
Project Title A descriptive name for your project. This title will appear in Dub InterViewer and also as the browser tab title when respondents open the questionnaire.
Project Location The folder where your project files will be stored. Useful for organising projects by client or department.
Questionnaire Group Assign the project to a group to manage access rights for different users on the same system.
Default Language Set the primary language for your questionnaire.
Interview Options
- Auto Proceed – respondents move to the next question automatically, without clicking Next
- Browsing Back – respondents can return to previous questions to change their answers
Tip: When you check Add Project to ManageFrames, Dub Quest will automatically assign the next available code in Dub InterViewer. It is recommended to leave this as-is.
Step 4 – Choose a project type
In the upper right section, select one or more project types:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| WAPI | Web Assisted Personal Interviewing — online surveys via internet |
| CATI | Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing — phone-based interviews in a call center |
| CAPI | Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing — face-to-face interviews via Android/iOS app |
| Data Entry | For digitalising paper questionnaires |
For your first project, select WAPI. Additional options will appear at the bottom of the screen.
For a full explanation of all project types, see Project Types.
Step 5 – Configure WAPI options
Once WAPI is selected, you can configure the following:
Template Choose a template for the look and feel of your survey. Options include templates from your Library, or you can start without a template. From version 7.8.8.0, the StandardResponsive template is available for mobile-friendly surveys.
Note when using StandardResponsive:
- Minimum screen resolution: 320px in any direction
- Do not use swap items or labels in grid questions
- Do not use the pipe character
|- Enable the frameless option in Dub Quest for proper touch device experience
Buttons Configure how the Previous and Next buttons appear in your survey — as standard buttons or as images, and whether they appear inline or in a separate frame.
Progress Bar Enable the default progress bar and automatic progress calculation during the survey.
URL after questionnaire Specify the web address respondents are redirected to after completing the survey.
Step 6 – Create the project
Click Create Project. The project is created and you are returned to the Survey Navigator, where your new project appears in the list.
